The Vanilla Cyclocross Team
When I started Vanilla Bicycles in 1999, it was with a couple of files, an oxy-acetylene torch and a frame worth of steel tubing. As I got deeper into the process I realized that when it comes to creating anything, I only want to jump in if I am going to give it all I've got. This goes for building frames, building a business, and bringing talented athletes together to build a racing team.
Now its 2008. Vanilla has gained critical acclaim around the world, The foundation of Vanilla as a good force in bicycle industry and our local cycling community grows stronger with every year, and the Vanilla Cyclocross Team has developed into a dedicated, seasoned, wicked fast squad. Each member of the team has been recognized for their drive and talent, but more importantly, their humility; a quality that makes a great racer and shines a positive of light on the sport. The Vanilla team continues to spread the gospel of Cyclocross around the world.
The Vanilla Cyclocross Team is some of the Northwests top representation of Cyclocross on the national level. This season the team will be a strong presence at the USGP of Cyclocross (the national series), a full domestic UCI cyclocross schedule and is well prepared to fight for more US National Cyclocross Championships.
We hope to see you out there.
Sincerely,
Sacha White

"I remember when Sacha asked me to ride his bicycles. I was an aspiring cross racer getting my butt kicked by the Kona riders and (my future teammate) Shannon Skerritt every weekend.
When Sacha approached me about riding for Vanilla over coffee one morning, I was caught completely off-guard and flattered. There was no way I thought I was bad ass enough to race on a Vanilla! But he thought I was and I've been a Vanilla rider ever since!
It has been almost 4 years since that first invitation to race for Vanilla Bicycles and with Vanilla I've grown from a fast regional SS rider to a professional, competing internationally with the fastest Cross racers in the world."

"There is beauty in bearing witness to those that compete for the top step of the podium with the class and grace of these athletes. Never ones to huddle in a team car right up until their own start time, the Vanilla riders and their team support personnel are regulars along the course throughout the day, cheering loudly and offering encouragement to aspiring amateurs. Following their effort, the Vanilla riders stick around and share the same smiling race recounts with those from earlier in the day. Racing is fun for these guys. Always has been. Always should be."
