Pricing Your Vanilla Bicycle
As of December 1st, 2007 the wait for a custom Vanilla is over five years.
It is impossible to predict how the cost of things like steel, silver, paint, even the utilities in our shop will fluctuate in the coming months and years. For this reason the final price of our bicycles will be subject to change as the markets change.
In addition to our base frame prices below, you'll find pricing specifics on our favorite tubing upgrades and aesthetic touches. If you need help with these choices, you're in good hands. From the right geometry and materials down to the best color to match your eyes. This is our thing.
If you would like, we can put together a very clear and detailed estimate for you, just give a call or shoot us an email.

Paint
As of May 07 all Vanilla frames, forks, and accessories, are painted at Coat. Coat is a delicious blend of science, color, application, and excellence. Sacha worked directly with Dick Speece, founder of Acme Paint and Jason Webber, lead painter, to build a state-of-the-art paintshop in Portland, Oregon. The entire Coat experience was built from the ground up, with every aspect of the business considered - tools, standards, customer service and of course paint and color.
The traditional Vanilla palette features timeless yet fresh versions of standard colors, like burnt oranges, avocado greens, creamy whites, tomato reds and baby blues.
There are a few ways to pick your color:
1. Go to a Dupont paint dealer and pick your color from the solid or metallic book (I think there are around 10,000 color chips in all,) then give the code to us and we'll match it. The up side - you get to see all of the possibilities, the down side - the possibilities can be overwhelming.
2. Find your color on a car and tell us the year and model. We like to choose colors this way, because you can get a more accurate impression when it is on a large surface rather than a tiny color chip.
3. Tell us the basic color that you want, like "blue" or "red" and put your fate in our hands. The scheme for nearly every bike on the site was done this way, so if you like what you see, this is a good option.
